A Guided Meditation for Hospice and Palliative Care

This guided imagery for hospice and palliative care is designed for patients and their families looking for closeness, resolution and closure during end of life care. The powerful, soothing tracks of guided meditation and affirmations on this uniquely comforting guided imagery for palliative care provide reassurance and inspiration to dying patients and their families, reducing fear and distress, while helping with grief, pain and anticipated loss.

Previously entitled Peaceful Dying, this guided meditation helps end-of-life patients find acceptance, forgive self and others, heal relationships, either current or past, say goodbye, prepare for the journey ahead and bring as much closure as possible to unresolved issues. Made to help the patient's loved ones as well, an entire family involved in hospice or palliative care can listen together as well as separately. Considered a helpful meditation for end-of-life planning, it has been found to help people, not just with the current anticipated loss, but with important long-ago losses as well. Often the result of a patient and family's listening to this program is finding freed up energy and thinking that can be applied to clearer and more cogent end of life decisions and planning. Here's the track list:

1. Guided Imagery (18:27)

2. Affirmations (18:27)

Guided imagery is a mind-body technique that consists of positive words and images, set to soothing music, to achieve specific healing goals. Repeated listening once or twice a day for 2-3 weeks ensures maximum impact. The affirmations for hospice and palliative care provide briefer versions of the same soothing, inspiring images and ideas, for those who prefer a shorter format that requires less concentration. Both tracks were written and narrated by noted psychotherapist, guided imagery and holistic health expert, Belleruth Naparstek, and scored to the beautiful, heart-melting music, of award-winning composer Steven Mark Kohn. This program was produced by the Cleveland Orchestra's impeccable audio recording engineer, Bruce Gigax.

A favorite on palliative care units and in hospice care as well as with nurses, therapists, pastoral counselors and family support groups, this sensitive and psychologically sophisticated audio program combines healing imagery, powerful music and the most current understanding of the mind-body connection to reduce fear, find acceptance, and support healthy coping with dying, grief and loss.
